There is nothing like walking into a home that smells like fresh baked bread. This recipe can make that smell a reality in your home as you welcome guests this season with a fraction of the time of regular yeast rolls.
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes
1 3/4 cups hot water
1/2 cup sugar- minus 1 tablespoon
1/2 cup cooking oil
3 tablespoons yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
5 1/2 cups white flour
2 whole eggs
Preheat oven to 425°F
In a bowl, combine water, sugar, oil and yeast.
Set aside and let yeast rise (it will be bubbly/ foaming looking)
Once the yeast has risen, add in the salt flour and eggs.
Mix gently until a soft dough forms.
On a floured surface knead the dough until it is no longer sticky.
Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces (the easiest way to do this is to cut the dough in half, and in half again, repeating until you have 12 parts)
Shape the pieces into rolls and placed on a greased cooking sheet.
Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
Bake for 10 minutes.
